Advertising Standards Authority (ASA)

 Advertising Standards  Authority Who are they and w hat do they do? They are a regulatory organization in the UK that regulate the the content of advertisements, promotions and direct marketing in the UK. They are not directly affiliated with the government and are independent but will follow their guidance and laws. They cover media platforms that include TV, sales promotions, cinema commercials and more. They have the power to investigate complaints about advertisements and take action again offensive, misleading or harmful adverts which can lead to them imposing sanctions to the advertiser. What are the key rules?  Some of the key rules that the ASA enforces include,  - Honesty over the advertisement not misleading  the consumer by making false claims over the product or not sharing key information regarding it. - The advertisement must not promote unsafe behavior. Initial Ideas

Initial Ideas I intend to make a series of  two adverts for the brief of a food delivery app where both adverts last 15 seconds. The aim is to represent this brand as being comedic and the audience to perceive it as so. I'll use media language to do this including the use of soft selling where it's hinted at how the product may effect the consumer. The use of slogans can make the company memorable along with a logo which helps directly link the company to something visual and the use of minor parody can help the brand stand out as being self aware and being more relatable to the watcher of the advert. If the advert seems crazy of stands out of the normal which something like a food delivery app it will help to draw more attention to it.
